Long Story, Short...

Luke does a lot of things.

Some of those things are creative.

Other people do similar things.

SMP is about those things and those people.

Lame Name...

I know, right?

Seven Minute Pitch gets its name from a Chuck Palahniuk essay about writers selling stories to publishers.  At a particular conference, each writer gets about seven minutes to tell the story and make the sell.  Palahniuk's essay and lots of his other work emphasize the brevity of life and the importance of making the best of what you can out of your "seven minutes."

The way I think of it all is this: I've got seven minutes to prove I've got something meaningful to say.  While I'm at it, I might as well find others who can do the same.  SMP is a place where if you give me seven minutes, I (or one of my peers) will make it worth your while.

And since we're on the subject...your seven minutes already started.  What have you said?

My name is Luke Devlin.

I graduated from TCU in Fort Worth, TX.

I am a youth pastor, barista, freelance graphic designer, and writer.

I also dabble in dinosaur safaris.

You can contact me at lukedevlin@gmail.com.

People contact me when they want me to...

...say hi.

...design something for them, like album art or a poster.

...write a story or article for them.

...share something on my website.

...take them on a dinosaur safari.

Feel free to do the same.

Also, people like to talk themselves up on this part of their website, like how cool they are and that they have good taste in sunglasses and how long they have been doing the same thing over and over.

All I can say is that I want to know everything and try everything and love people and be creative and I'm not very good at making websites.
